ORLANDO, FLORIDA (November 9, 2017- November 11, 2017) – The First Tee invited Ken Blanchard and Blanchard Institute to their 2017 Annual Network Conference. Ken gave a Keynote on Organizational Leadership and Inspiring the Next Generation. Blanchard Institute accompanied by care partner, Robert Brown, trained 82 members in Leading Change where chapter Board Members and Executive Directors learned how to lead successful organizational change efforts by understanding the different stages of concern and adjusting their leadership style to improve productivity and morale. Another 43 Executive Directors and Program Directors were trained in Building Trust where they learned how to build trust to increase engagement, creativity, and commitment in the workplace.
Blanchard Institute was also invited to train at First Tee’s Outstanding Leadership Summit for students and their Alumni Summit for former First Tee students. At the Outstanding Leadership Summit, Blanchard Institute trained 28 First Tee students aged 14 to 18 in Student Self-Leadership. Students learned how to goal set with SMART goals and the SLII™ Model through juggling. Blanchard Institute also trained 12 Alumni aged 18 to 29 in DISC Personality where they learned about different types of personalities and their learning styles. Prior to the training all the Alumni took their own DISC personality assessment to better understand their own mindset and learned how they can best work with each mindset.
Update on CSRM Partnership- 2017 CSRM Annual Member Meeting
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (November 6, 2017) – Blanchard Institute attended CSRM’s Annual Member Meeting for the second time in a row this November. Blanchard Institute’s booth demonstrated to members the importance of resiliency through a game of “Resilience Pong”, winners walked away with a Ken Blanchard book. Currently CSRM and Blanchard Institute are in the middle of Year 2 of a 3-Year Pilot program with 2 of their Districts, Hesperia Unified School District and Victor Elementary School District. Blanchard Institute has surveyed 20,000 students each year, trained 160 Principals and over 230 Teachers from Hesperia and Victor Elementary in the past 2 years.
UKRAINE (July 2017) – Our Care Partners, Radooga Ministries, in Ukraine have been hard at work training over 25 new trainers for our StudentSL program this summer. They hope to train over 1500 kids this summer at their many leadership summer camps. Blanchard Institute plans to travel abroad and participate in the program during the summer of 2018!

She discussed Legendary Service and how to build a culture of care in school districts!
MOBILE, ALABAMA (June 13, 2017) – The Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) invited Ken Blanchard and Blanchard Institute to their 2017 Summer Convention. Ken gave the keynote speech on “Leading to Succeed in Changing Times” to over 1300 Superintendents and School Leaders, representing 138 school districts in the state of Alabama. Kevin Hammond and Ben Tabbal presented two breakout sessions on “Leading through a Thriving Mindset”.
The Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools provides high quality professional development for school districts and administrative leaders. They represent over 3,500 members all over the State of Alabama. Their mission is to “coordinate and facilitate the resources of all members for the advancement of public education.”
OCEANSIDE (June 9, 2017) – 30 at risk students with low GPA’s and/or behavioral problems from Cesar Chavez Middle School in Oceanside participated in a yearlong StudentSL course that was incorporated into their school curriculum by their teacher, Rhianna Johnson. The leadership program was so successful it resulted in a dramatic increase in grades, resilient self-leaders, greater confidence, good relationships between both their fellow students & their teachers, and a renewed excitement about school & their future.
In celebration for all of their hard work, Blanchard Institute rewarded the students with an end of the year rock climbing party! The students used their newly acquired leadership skills to help everyone ascend to the top of the rock climbing walls.
SAN BERNARDINO (April 21, 2017) – Ken Blanchard spoke to over 50 Superintendents and Community Leaders on “Leading at a Higher Level” in Education, bringing world-class leadership to schools. The event was sponsored by California Schools Risk Management (CSRM) and hosted by the County Superintendent of Schools, Ted Alejandre. Blanchard Institute has partnered with CSRM to improve San Bernardino’s status as one of the lowest ranking counties in California in education and per capita income.
Blanchard Institute is working with 25,000 students in 54 Schools in the High Desert and has trained 160 principals and school leaders on how to inspire their staff and teachers; how to connect and train students with life skills and how to break the cycle of poverty and victimhood by teaching them to make responsible choices.
